Vitality Age Reveal video - Sandy

Transcript

Introduction

This video provides information and tells a story of a woman named Sandy. Sandy's husband had a disease. Because of that, she didn’t have time to take care of herself. With the help of Manulife Vitality, she's ready for a change to be better and to have a longer and healthier life.

On screen

Manulife end slate appears at the first scene of the video then fades out after. Then, a clip of a wall filled with family portraits pans to the left then a text appears saying, “We all have a unique story.” Text fades in at the center as well, together with the background music. As the clip pans to the left, the text “We all have a unique story.” fades out, then “And our stories can impact our health.” fades in at the center.

On screen

A white background fades in. The text “Manulife recognizes this” fades in the center followed by “and wants to help Canadians live healthier for longer.” appearing below it and fading out after. The text “We spoke to people about their lives to understand how their habits can unknowingly impact their health." fades in.

On screen

A clip of Sandy entering a room appears, then the text “This is Sandy’s real story.” fades in at the center and eventually fades out after. As Sandy walks into the room, she stops and Is in shock when she saw the portraits. She points out a portrait and started to speak.

Sandy: John was my husband, our marriage vows said…

A medium shot of Sandy appears as she continues to speak.

Sandy: My lover and my best friend, all of those things apply.

On screen

A clip of her portraits with her husband appears and pans down as she speaks.

Sandy: We met in second year university. Last year in January we knew something was not right with John and…

Medium and close-up shots of Sandy appear and she continues speaking.

Sandy: by March, we knew that he had terminal cancer. He started to have breathing problems and we ended up back in the hospital and nine days later, he was dead.

A clip of Sandy standing and looking at her family portraits appears as she continues to speak.

Sandy: Nobody expected it, the doctors hadn’t expected it.

Sandy: Last year, I was the director. I directed everything. I made sure that everybody knew what was going on. I made sure John felt safe. No time to look after this, to take care — it was okay, it was what had to be done… It was what had to be done.

Sandy: I’ve gone through life always feeling much younger than I am, always feeling much younger than I am — being taken from much younger than I am.

Sandy: I need to keep myself healthy, I need to make sure that I’m ok. So, my number one goal is to lose some weight in a healthy, positive way.

A white background fades in. Then, the text “It’s time to reveal Sandy’s Vitality Age ™.” appears at the center of the screen followed by “A better representation of your true age based on your personal health choices.” below it. Both texts fade out after.

A clip of Sandy standing at the left side appears while animated graphics with the text “birth age”, the number “59”, and a green graphic circle around the texts all appear beside her. The “birth age” text fades out, while the numbers start to count down. The green graphic circle around it animates then.

The green graphic circle stops animating when the countdown stops at number “71”. The “Vitality age ™” text fades in on top of “71”as Sandy speaks.

Sandy: Oh? Hmmm... Surprised.

A close-up shot of Sandy appears as she speaks.

Sandy: I’m not happy with that number. But there’s probably some things that I can do to-- to keep moving forward and make sure that that number isn’t a reality.

Sandy: I’d be really interested in knowing more about what I can do to reach the goals that I’ve set up for myself and perhaps to create some other goals that I haven’t prioritized for myself 'cause I don’t really know what I'm needing to do next.
