Manulife Named to 2025 Corporate Knights Global 100
Manulife recognized as one of the world’s most sustainable companies, ranking 4th within the global insurance industry
February 6, 2025
Manulife (TSX: MFC) is proud to announce its inclusion in the 2025 Corporate Knights Global 100 ranking, as one of the world's most sustainable companies and fourth in the insurance industry. This prestigious accolade recognizes Manulife's commitment to empower sustained health and well-being, drive inclusive economic opportunity, and accelerate a sustainable future. The ranking is based on a rigorous assessment of public companies with revenue over US$1 billion.
“Through our Impact Agenda, we’re working to create long-term value for our business, our communities, and the planet,” said Sarah Chapman, Manulife’s Global Chief Sustainability Officer. “We’re honoured to again be ranked as one of the top corporate citizens in the world. Our sustainability commitments will continue to be aligned to our values and mission – to make decisions easier and lives better for our more than 35 million customers around the world."
Manulife’s inclusion in the Global 100 ranking was driven by its sustainable investing practices and revenues earned from sustainable sources. Manulife Wealth & Asset Management integrates sustainability factors into investment strategies through objective analysis, knowledge sharing and global collaboration where applicable, consistent with its fiduciary duty to clients. Manulife also supports the longevity economy by investing in innovative solutions like behavioral insurance. Our offerings — Manulife Vitality, ManulifeMOVE, and John Hancock Vitality — support our customers in living healthier, more active lives by rewarding them for making healthy lifestyle choices. Corporate Knights also recognized Manulife’s focus on diversity at the Board and executive management levels, and in connecting sustainability to compensation and performance. Manulife's full scorecard is available on the Corporate Knights website.
This is the second year in a row Manulife has been named to the Global 100, climbing to the 89th position in the 2025 ranking, up from the 98th in 2024. Manulife has also been named one of Canada’s Top 50 Companies by Corporate Knights for the last four years.
The Manulife Climate Action Fund, which is available to eligible investors in Canada, has additionally been named to the Corporate Knights’ 2025 Responsible Investment Funds list. Responsible Funds are invested in substantially more sustainable companies than non-responsible funds.
