A whole new kind of insurance

How does Manulife Vitality work? It’s simple, really.

  1. Choose an insurance plan.
  2. Make healthy choices that earn Vitality Points™, which are awarded through the Manulife Vitality app or by recording your activities with a wearable device.
  3. All those Vitality Points can earn you valuable rewards like savings on your insurance costs, gift cards and discounts on popular brands. As you accumulate points you can also increase your Vitality Status™, which can level-up your rewards!

Manulife Vitality Plus vs. Manulife Vitality Go

As you can see, there are two types of each life insurance plan. 
That’s because there are two ways to experience the program: Manulife Vitality Plus and Manulife Vitality Go. Here’s how that works:

Manulife Vitality Plus

For just $6 per month,1 you can:

  • Get more value: Get rewards not available with Vitality Go™, and many rewards increase as your Vitality Status improves. 
  • Control your premiums: You start out with 10% off insurance costs in your first year,2 and as your status increases, you can earn even bigger discounts!
  • Earn a free Apple Watch: Choose an Apple Watch to record your activity and reduce your monthly payments to as low as $03 when you earn enough points each month.
  • Get personal support: Talk to an expert Vitality Personal Consultant to get all your answers about the membership experience. 
  • Win gift cards: Earn spins on the Vitality Wheel ™4 to win gift cards or points.

Health and dental option: If you choose Manulife Vitality with health and dental insurance, it’s very much the same as Vitality Plus™ – but you pay $5 per month and save up to 10% on insurance premiums. Plus, you get comprehensive healthcare benefits.

Manulife Vitality Go

You can access the features of Manulife Vitality Go at no cost when you buy one of our eligible insurance products.5 It provides valuable benefits right when you sign up, like discounts on Garmin and Fitbit products. Just like with Plus, you can win more rewards by spinning the Vitality Wheel4 when you achieve weekly targets.

Manulife Vitality is a program that comes with all eligible Manulife life and health and dental insurance plans.5 It rewards you with discounts and gift cards on popular brands for health and wellness activities you may already be doing.

There are many ways to earn Vitality Points, including:

  • Activities like running, walking, working out and playing a sport
  • Healthy sleep
  • Meditation
  • Vaccinations
  • Dental checkups
  • Athletic events
  • Completing your Vitality Health Review™

The more points you earn, the higher your Vitality Status level. If you’re a Manulife Vitality Plus member, higher status means increased rewards and insurance savings.2

When you earn enough points to reach your Weekly Target, you earn a spin of the Vitality Wheel, which gives you the chance to win more points or a gift card. And you can also win points by playing the monthly Vitality Squares™ game.

Eligibility for rewards may change over time and are not guaranteed over the full life of the insurance policy.

1 Vitality charge is $5 monthly on health and dental plans. The charge varies for Manulife Par with Vitality Plus. $6 monthly or $72 annually for pay to age 90; $10 monthly or $120 annually for pay for 20 years; or $15 monthly or $180 annually for pay for 10 years.

2 Savings on insurance costs are in comparison to the same Manulife life insurance policy without Vitality Plus. The level of savings on insurance costs will vary based upon the Vitality Status achieved by the life insured. Savings on insurance costs are only available on Family Term with Vitality Plus and Manulife UL with Vitality Plus. Manulife Par with Vitality Plus offers the potential for Vitality Dividends. Maximum savings on Manulife Vitality with health and dental insurance plans is 10%.

3 Free Apple Watch refers to Apple Watch SE with $0 initial payment (plus tax) and $0 monthly payments earned by accumulating 500 Vitality Points through Standard or Active Workouts every month for 24 months. Initial payment does not include applicable taxes or upgrades which may include cellular models. Tax on initial payment is based on retail value of Apple Watch. Apple Watch Ultra 2, Apple Watch Series 9, and Apple Watch SE require iPhone Xs or later with iOS 17 or later. Wireless service plan required for cellular service. Apple Watch and iPhone service provider must be the same. The full value of the Apple Watch SE is $329, which is comprised of monthly payments of $13.70 per month over 24 months.  The full value of the Apple Watch Series 9 is $549, comprised of an initial payment of $97 plus tax, then monthly payments of $18.50 per month over 24 months. The full value of the Apple Watch Ultra 2 is $1,099, comprised of an initial payment of $647 plus tax, then monthly payments of $18.50 per month over 24 months. Each monthly payment can be reduced to as little as $0 depending on how many Vitality Points you earn.
