Transcript
Introduction
This video provides information and tells a story of a man named Mike. It tells how he took care of himself after being stressed and burned out from work, how Manulife Vitality will help him maintain his healthy lifestyle.
On screen
Manulife end slate appears at the first scene of the video then fades out after. Then, a clip of a wall filled with family portraits pans to the right then a text appears sating, “We all have a unique story.” Text fades in at the center as well, together with the background music.
As the clip pans to the right, the “We all have a unique story.” text fades out, then the “And our stories can impact our health.” text fades in at the center.
On screen
A white background fades in, then “Manulife recognizes this” text fades in the center followed by “and wants to help Canadians live healthier for longer.” appearing below it and fading out after.
The text “We spoke to people about their lives to understand how their habits can unknowingly impact their health." fades in.

A clip of Mike entering a room appears, then the text “This is Mike’s real story.” fades in at the center and eventually fades out after. As Mike walks into the room, he stops and looks at the portraits.
Mike: Oh my… wow. This is definitely incredible.

Mike continues to walk around to the podiums filled with his family photos and points out at one photo.
Mike: So this picture is a little bit hard for me to look at. This was corporate Mike. A burnt-out, very stressed-out Mike.

Mike: It's just mentally, t'was very draining and exhausting.

Mike: The biggest form of burn out for me was I actually ended up hospitalized because of this.

Mike: I was actually in a hospital for almost a week, had lots of physical and also mental symptoms.

Mike: I remember just actually talking to the nurse and she said there're a lot of patients that she’s had… with a very similar to my story.

Mike: And said, stress is a big factor. And she advised me along with my doctor on how you can alleviate stress.

Mike: I didn't want my next 20 years of my life to look at the last 20 years of my life

Mike: I didn’t try to make a change, I didn’t try to do something different, something I’m more passionate about.

Mike: And I’m happy to say that I’ve now taken control of my life, I’ve taken control of my health. I’m in a much healthier place, holistically, mentally, physically, spiritually—I’m in a much better place.

Mike: Definitely still working, I’m still not at the same schedule or pace that I used to.

Mike: And I got to say, I’m absolutely loving what I’m doing now.

Mike: I go to the gym five days a week. I’m playing basketball again. Now that I’m on this path, I know that I’ve done the right thing and I’m very grateful to actually take that leap forward.

Mike: Younger, love it.

Mike: Long term health goals are to continue on the structure that I’m on. Obviously taking care of my physical and mental health and most importantly, being there for my daughter. She grew up as well, making sure that I’m there for her every step of the way.
